Welcome to The Course

Welcome to the NewDev HTML course! This is the start of an exciting journey into the fascinating world of web development. HTML is the standard language used to create web pages, and it's a fundamental skill that every web developer must have.

Choosing to learn HTML is a significant step in your development journey. It's not only about creating static web pages; it's about understanding how the web works and starting to see the endless possibilities that come with it. By the end of this course, you'll be able to build your own websites, something that's both exciting and valuable in today's digital world. Web development skills are in high demand, and the knowledge you gain here can open doors for you in many industries and roles.

How to Take this Course

This course is designed to be self-paced and taken in order. Every lesson comes with exercises to test your knowledge and reinforce what you've learned. There's no rush; you can take as much time as you need to grasp each concept.

Although it's self-paced, we encourage you to learn a little bit every day, even if it's just 15 minutes. This consistent practice helps reinforce your learning and keep you engaged.

It's important that you post your daily progress on the community page. This will help you stay accountable and motivated. It's also a great way to connect with other developers and keep track of your progress.

What We'll Be Covering

This course is your comprehensive guide to HTML and building websites. We'll start with the basics: understanding what HTML is and how it works. From there, we'll delve into more complex topics like formatting, adding images and links, creating forms, and working with multimedia.

Each topic we cover will give you a new tool in your web development toolkit and bring you one step closer to being able to create a website on your own. Don't worry about the details right now; each lesson will provide an in-depth exploration of each topic.

What You'll Need

To take this course, you'll need a laptop or a desktop computer. However, if you don't have a laptop right now, you can start with your mobile phone. We do highly recommend transitioning to a laptop when you can, as it will give you a more robust development environment.

To get the most out of this course, install the NewDev app by clicking the install button on your Navbar, or by visiting this Play Store link.

Engage actively. Practice what you've learned, complete the exercises, and don't hesitate to ask questions on the community page if you're stuck or need clarification.

Completing the Exercises

Each lesson in this course comes with an exercise to reinforce what you've learned. Don't worry if you don't pass an exercise on the first attempt; it's more important to understand the concepts than to rush through.

After each exercise, you'll receive feedback on areas that need improvement. Use this feedback as a guide for what to review in the lesson. If you're struggling, ask questions on the community page; our community members are there to help. Once you feel comfortable with the material, you can retake the test. Remember, the goal here is to learn, not just to finish. Your understanding of each lesson is key to your success in this course and your future as a developer.
